I enjoy wrapping presents. And I especially enjoy adding an extra special touch, like these Polaroid holiday gift tags.
Given my obsession with instant film, Polaroid gift tags were a quick choice when I sat down to design a holiday gift tag. I am thrilled with how these turned out. The simplicity of black and white paired with the nostalgic design of an instant photo – a perfect pair to adorn a personal gift from the heart.
And even better, these holiday gift tags are quick and easy to make.
When I sat down to design this SVG set, I thought about the lessons 2020 has brought. As a believer in the power of affirmation, I wrote a list of words that came to mind.
Of course, I wanted to use them all, but I needed to trim the list to 3-6. I asked my friends on Instagram for their power words, and there were so many great ones, but I couldn’t use them all. Instead, I chose 3 words from my list, and designed 3 blank snowflake tags perfect for adding a personalized message
What are my 3 power words?
Believe, Joy, Hope
You will need a cutting machine like the Cricut Maker (or Explore), for this project. I use (and love) the Cricut Maker. I get nervous when I start a delicate or complex design that is on the smaller side. But again and again, I’m in awe of what this machine can do. Even the finest cuts are no problem for the Maker.

Holiday Gift Tag in Cricut Design Space
The first step is to upload the SVG(s) to Cricut Design Space. If you look over on the layers panel, each of the layers have been coded to score + cut for you – no need to fuss and change linetypes. It’s all built into the file.
Once you have the design on the canvas, select all and hit Attach. The file was designed this way on purpose, to give flexibility to choose a single cut, or cut in bulk.
Assemble the Holiday Gift Tags
The card assembles really fast. I love using Aleene’s Fast Grab tacky glue because it sets up clear (important when using black paper), and sets up fast, with a nice flex to the card.
See? These gift tags come together in a snap – and you can make as many gifts tags as you want in no time at all. I’m looking forward to wrapping gifts with these holiday gift tags this year.
